Giddey, White, Future Cap Space
The biggest issue I see here is that nobody is sure which of these guards are even going to be on the roster next year. Giddey, Sexton, and Dillingham all can be seen as primary ballhandler and Simons needs the ball and is also undersized. There are no starting centers on the roster. A lot to be done this offseason.
Buzelis’s Value
Matas Buzelis has emerged with potential to become a high-level rotation piece in the NBA and has an intriguing skillset for the NBA. The offseason will be about finding the right talent to elevate this team in a way that provides meaningful minutes in competitive basketball games for Buzelis and any other young talent that is integrated into the core.

Organic vs. Manufactured Growth
Barring an improbable but not impossible finals run, this summer will bring a renewed look at whether the organic growth of young players is enough to take the next step or whether it is the time to rely on external talent accumulation around Wembanyama.
Backcourt
With Castle and Harper both blossoming in their young careers, the role for Fox and even Vassell may look very different than originally envisioned when they signed their respective contracts. How leadership values each of them in the coming years will be worth monitoring.

Ballhandling Depth
While Cunningham is a premier player, the Pistons have been looking for a solution at backup point guard for a while now, including bringing in Dennis Schroder. The stretch run and playoffs should shine some light about whether Daniss Jenkins is part of this answer.
Restricted Free Agency/Extensions
This past offseason, Detroit was unable to reach a deal to extend Jalen Duren, leaving the team to balance his restricted free agency with pivotal extension decisions for Ausar Thompson and possibly Isaiah Stewart.

Future Draft Capital
The difficult questions for the Thunder started with the extensions they signed this summer for JDub and Chet. So far, they seem to be answering them with skill and precision. The next difficult decision is going to hinge on roster spots and how they value the draft class vs. the young guys near the end of their roster.
Isaiah Hartenstein
Hartenstein was one of two big outside acquisitions 2 summers ago. Caruso’s skillset seems to be much more irreplicable than Hartenstein, which may mean that Hartenstein may not be a part of their future. JWill’s has taken a definite step forward, but it is questionable whether that is translatable in more consistent minutes.

KAT’s Future
The KAT experience has been a roller coaster since the blockbuster trade last summer. There have been times where the KAT-Brunson connection looks seamless, but the top heavy nature of their roster means that any time that KAT fades into the background the void is glaring. KAT could continue garnering trade calls this summer which should be worth monitoring.
Defensive Makeup
Even with their first Conference Finals appearance in years, New York’s defense has been a huge concern for the better part of this year and last. KAT is not a traditional rim protector and Robinson seems to have a sweet spot around 18-20 minutes. This could be addressed on the perimeter or on the interior but New York is still searching for an answer.

Amen Thompson
Perhaps their crown jewel young player, Amen Thompson is going to be eligible for a rookie scale extension this summer and his potential could reach as high as Defensive Player of the Year. The max language that could be in his deal should be monitored.
Tari Eason
Eason and Houston were unable to reach an extension last offseason. For one of the integral pieces of the roster, this leaves a huge question mark as Eason takes the floor this year.

Summer 2027
The Clippers have systematically built their cap sheets to clear in 2027 which leads to questions about whether they will be willing to sacrifice flexibility for one more run.
Bennedict Mathurin Restricted Free Agency
It will be interesting to watch how the Clippers handle their recent addition in restricted free agency, which has been increasingly hostile in recent years.
